Salvador Dalí was a Spanish surrealist artist known for creating bizarre images in his work. His most famous painting, “The Persistence of Memory,” was painted in 1931 and is sometimes called “The Melting Clocks” because it depicts several clocks melting in the sun. During his career, he lived in Spain, France and the United States, often collaborating with other artists.  Although he is well known for his paintings, he is also famous for drawing, photography, sculpture, writing, film and jewelry.
