Notary Policy
Service Hours – Notary services are offered by appointment only. Library employees who hold a valid New York State Notary license are available on site to provide notary services to the public. Library notary publics are required to follow all New York state laws governing notary publics.
Make an Appointment – You can make an appointment online using our website calendar here, or by calling the Adult Services Department at the library. Appointments are subject to the availability of on-site notaries. Walk-in hours are ONLY available on Fridays from 9:30 – 11:00 am provided a notary is on site.
Cost – The library does not charge for a notarization. A person is limited to 10 notarizations per day. A notary consists of one signature and one stamp.
Identification Requirements – Any member of the public utilizing the library’s notary services must appear in person and provide satisfactory evidence of identity in compliance with Section 182.5 of Title 19, NYCRR as presented in Notary Public License Law published by the New York Department of State Division of Licensing Services.*
